After years of struggling to get pregnant, Mike and I were amazed to find out we were going to have triplets!
The trio was born at 26 weeks, each wieghing 1 pound 7 ounces each and were 12 inches long. Their heads were as big
as tangerines, their fingers like tiny pieces of spaghetti. They spent 3, 4, and 5 months in the hospital, and have had
36 surgeries between them. We have had a long struggle to be where we are, but our faith and support from family and friends
are what we rely on.
My favorite quote is "We are where we are by the Grace of God", to me Grace = enabling power. Without the enabling Grace I am
given, I could never face the many challenges I have encountered.
I enjoy scrapbooking (and suggest you use Creative Memories brand products as much as possible), have volunteered for The American
Red Cross for over 10 years as an Instructor and an Instructor Trainer, sit on the Board of Directors' for GKMOM's (Greater
Kalamazoo Mothers of Multiples), along with many other volunteer obligations! My family and I were the year 2000 recepients of the STAR Award for
community volunteerism. If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes an entire community to raise triplets! I give to my
community what I hope to receive in return. I hope from my actions to instill essential values in my children, those skills necessary
to make a difference in our world.
Kinda sappy for a baked goods web page, eh? :-) Thanks for looking, I hope to hear from you.
